The selection of whiskies falls true to the Duncan Taylor ethie of un bridled quality, each whisky from each cask is nosed and tasted before going into the Black Bull vatting. Bottled at 50% abv.

Earlier this year, Black Bull 12yo was awarded ‘Best Blended Scotch Whisky – 12 Years and Under’ from the World Whiskies Awards following this announcement there was a stampede and it became temporarily out of stock, you’ll be glad to hear it is now back on board so “stock” up while you can.

Black Bull 40 Year Old, Batch 3, the flagship of Duncan Taylor's Black Bull range, is a luxury blend of the finest single malt and single grain whiskies available from Scotland’s premium distilleries. Black Bull 40 is 90% single malt and 10% single grain and is bottled at cask strength. The spirit is completely natural, without chill filtration or added colourant. Black Bull 40 contains whiskies ranging from 40 to 44 years old from the following distilleries: Bunnahabhain, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet, Glenburgie, Highland Park, Miltonduff, Springbank, Tamdhu and Invergordon.

“Good balanced maturity. Exotic, with cinnamon spice and a long medium-dry finish.” “On the nose some mild peat notes, ginger biscuits and leather sandals filled with sand. Flavour wise there is a lot going on, with a good combination of pastel fruit sweetness, heather , vanilla and oak. A malty sweet finish which trails off with a soft oaky tone and a trace of peat.”

The announcement of two further gold awards for Black Bull 40 year old at the International Spirits Challenge and the Best in Glass awards makes a total of eleven awards for the brand during the last year alone, six of them gold. A bullish performance! The Best in Glass awards consist of a blind tasting of short listed whiskies by leading industry figures from the wine and spirits sector. “The panel were wowed by the balance of this superbly put together whisky, which demonstrated incredible fruit, vanilla and complex, aged oak notes, with a rich and highly moreish character.”

The secret to making Asyla is the quality of the casks. Only whiskies aged in first-fill American oak casks are used because these yield whiskies with more vanilla character, more richness and more sweetness than refill casks. Asyla is made with 50% malt whisky from the towns of Alness and Longmorn, single grain whisky from Fife. There are few blended Scotches that use as high a malt content as Compass Box. Not chill filtered, natural colour.

Hedonism is a unique and award-winning blended grain Scotch whisky. It is produced once or twice per year, depending on the ability to source the quality of casks required. Rare and old, the whisky is usually aged between 12 and 25 years, it’s something special for both the collector and the new whisky enthusiast.

Hedonism is unusual in the Scotch whisky world, a blended grain Scotch whisky. It is very rare to see 100% grain whisky bottlings, in Scotland. Going back 100 years, grain whisky brands were more common, but they were overtaken in popularity by the big brands of blended Scotch, which comprised both grain whisky and malt whisky. To produce Hedonism, they search for old casks of 100% first-fill American oak. Typically the grain whisky comes from the Cameron Bridge, Carsebridge, Cambus, Port Dundas or Dumbarton distilleries.

Compass Box Whisky uses a small mill in France that makes some of the highest quality cooperage oak in the world. It was this mill that inspired an innovative idea that led to the creation of the blended Scotch malt whisky "Oak Cross". It offers the best characteristics of both American and French oak aging. A rich, medium-bodied blended malt Scotch whisky, Oak Cross combines vanilla characters from American oak and spicy, clove-like characters from French oak. Made entirely of Highland single malt whisky. Bottled at 43%, natural colour not chill filtered.

An infusion made of smooth, sweet Scotch (Highland single malt and single grain from Fife) whisky infused with the hand-zested peel of Navalino oranges and subtle accents of Indonesian cassia bark and Sri Lankan cloves.

Orangerie cannot officially be called Scotch whisky, as it has taken on flavours from the infusion of fresh, handzested orange peel and exotic spices. Only the freshest, highest quality oranges and top class, aromatic spices are used, no synthetic flavourings or oils. Only the handzested peel of really fresh Navalino oranges will give you the lively, vibrant flavours that are the hallmark of Orangerie.

For those who love big, rich, peaty and smoky malt whiskies, this is your whisky. Bottled at 46%, "The Peat Monster" combines extremely smoky malt whisky from Islay with medium-peated Highland whiskies to create a balanced and approachable monster, but a monster nonetheless. Made from a marriage of an Islay south shore malt, a peated malt, a peated malt from the Isle of Mull and a smoky Speyside malt. Matured in refill American oak. Not chill filtered, natural colour.

The Spice Tree is made from 100% malt whisky sourced from northern Highland distilleries, primarily malt whisky distilled in the village of Brora, think 'Clynelish' The primary maturation is in a mix of first-fill and refill American oak. Then in a secondary maturation, they rack the whisky into barrels with heavily toasted new French oak heads. Bottled at 46%, natural colour, not chill filtered.

Hibiki, meaning 'resonance' in Japanese is a fantastic Japanese 12 year old. A blend of malt from the Hakushu and Yamazaki distilleries plus some aged grain from Chita.

A wonder of fruity, clean, rich, pure taste. The legendary Hibiki represents true harmony.

Numerous types of pure single malt whiskies, ageing in various types of casks, including Mizunara (a very rare Japanese oak) all combine to create a full orchestra of flavors and aromas.

Hibiki is Suntory's flagship blended whisky. This is an award-winning premium blend packaged in a decanter style bottle. Made with aged malt and grain whiskies at least 17 years old, from the Hakushu and Yamazaki distilleries plus some aged grain from Chita.

" Nose: Ripe soft and pillow like with hints of smoke and toasty wood. Citrus leaf, cocoa, cooked apricot, ripe banana, hazelnut giving a crunch. Palate: Toffee sweetness stretches along the palate. Winner of the 2008 World Whiskies Award for Best Scotch Blend, 12 Years and Under, Islay Mist 12 Year Old, while being the newest addition to the range, is also perhaps the whisky which most embodies the Islay Mist spirit. A delicate blend of Laphroaig with complex spice, citrus and nutty undertones.

The flagship blend from Ireland's biggest distillery was created in 1984, and released annually since then. It really is rare as only a limited release of about 50 casks are released every year. This renowned whiskey is a bottling of hand selected whiskeys, between 12 and 25 years of age, from the Midleton Distillery (home of Jameson) and represents some of the finest distillates produced at this famous location. The master distiller, Barry Crockett, only chooses whiskey matured in seasoned American oak casks for the annual bottling, and as a guarantee of the unique quality of this rare whiskey, Barry applies his signature to each individual bottle. Due to the hand crafted nature of Midleton Very Rare, there are slight variances in taste from year to year.

Whisky From The Barrel forms part of a series of vatted whiskies that are released by Nikka. Vatted whiskies are produced using single malts that are mixed together. These single malts may be of differing ages and from different distilleries. They are similar to blended whiskies in this respect, but blends include whisky made from other grains. Vatted whiskies only include single malt whisky produced from malted barley. In this case, Nikka have used different ages of single malt from both Miyagikyo and Yoichi and married them together over time. "Whisky From The Barrel" is a multi award winning whisky, including scooping the Best Japanese Blended/Vatted Whisky prize at The World Whisky Awards 2007 and 2010.
