Year 2012

Aberlour 16 Year Old is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and the finest ex-sherry butts. This maturation ensures the depth of character as well as the distinctive fruitiness and spiciness of Aberlour.

Most Aberlour single malts are double cask matured. When it has come to age, the whisky from the two sets of casks is brought together for the first time and the different flavours and textures are subtly merged. The American bourbon casks produce a sweet vanilla-like aroma and golden colour, which varies in intensity according to the length of period of maturation. Whisky matured in ex-sherry casks is more full-bodied, with sweeter, spicier Oloroso overtones and a rich, amber hue.

Natural and undiluted, not chill-filtered or coloured in any way, Connemara Cask Strength reflects the rugged nature of the famous region in the West of Ireland. As extraordinary as the landscape, this whiskey is exceptional. Because it is so natural and undiluted, the level of alcohol differs between bottlings, and so labels are printed specially for each batch. The pure clear spring water from the Cooley Mountains united with the peated malted barley give the Connemara Cask Strength a rare flavour.

Hibiki, meaning 'resonance' in Japanese is a fantastic Japanese 12 year old. A blend of malt from the Hakushu and Yamazaki distilleries plus some aged grain from Chita.

A much sought-after single malt with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay - but also offering a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting dram.

Lagavulin is an intense, smoky-sweet single malt with seaweed flavours and a huge finish, aged in oak casks for at least sixteen years. At the old 43% strength.

The 17-year-old predominantly features ex-bourbon maturation, with the addition of spirit that has been wholly matured in Spanish wood ex-sherry casks, predominantly Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso. This adds a subtle depth and complexity to the whisky, making for an outstanding after-dinner drink.

'95' Whisky Bible 2013.

This expression, Powers John’s Lane Release, celebrates the origin of the Powers whiskey tradition and provides a glimpse of the whiskey style that made Powers famous. Using a pot still distillate which is true to the original style of John’s Lane, the whiskey has been matured for not less than 12 years, mainly in 2nd fill American bourbon casks, with a small contribution of distillate which has been matured in Olorosso sherry butts.

The result is a Single Pot Still whiskey of outstanding flavour and complexity which provides a fitting tribute to the spiritual home of one of Ireland’s most loved whiskies.

"From the Orkney Islands, also known as the "old adventure islands", at the far northern tip of Scotland, Scapa is a honey-coloured single malt with extremely original floral and iodine notes.
