Kilchoman (pronounced kilhoman) Distillery is situated on the western side of Islay, near the small town of Kilchoman and is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland with an annual production of 100,000 litres of alcohol. The distillery began production in June 2005, and was the first to be built on the island of Islay in 124 years. Kilchoman uses barley grown on site at Rockside Farm and malted at the distillery and is one of only six distilleries to carry out traditional floor maltings.

700 ml, 46.0% abv, Scotland (ISLAY)The Machir Bay range is their core expression, first launched in 2012 when it won the prestigious IWSC 2012 Gold Award – Best in Class. Machir Bay is a picturesque sandy beach overlooked by the Kilchoman Church just half a mile from the distillery. Machir Bay is matured in both Bourbon barrels and Sherry casks affording it a beautiful balance of rich tropical fruit, peat smoke, light vanilla and intense sweetness. Different editions of Machir Bay have been released in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
700 ml, 46.0% abv, Scotland (ISLAY)Sanaig, is a new release from Kilchoman, named after a rocky inlet North West of the distillery, Sanaig, has a predominantly sherry cask influence owing to the significant time spent in Oloroso sherry casks. These aged Oloroso casks contribute a drastically transformed depth of colour and character compared to the mostly Bourbon cask matured Machir Bay. ‘Cask Influence’ bars now feature on the packaging of both Sanaig and Machir Bay to illustrate the differing flavour profiles of the two core expressions. “A beautiful marriage of bourbon and sherry maturation balanced with classic Islay peat smoke and light citrus sweetness” (Anthony Wills, Founder)
700 ml, 46.0% abv, Scotland (ISLAY)Kilchoman's release for travel retail, this is a 5 year old whisky matured in ex-Bourbon casks. The name comes from 'Saligo Bay' which is situated a couple of miles west of Kilchoman Distillery and is a small rocky inlet with golden sandy beach.
Bottled at 46% abv, non-chill filtered and no added color.

700 ml, 50.0% abv, Scotland (Islay)All parts of the production process for the 100% Islay have taken place at the distillery – from barley to bottle. The barley is grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at Kilchoman making for a unique character. Bottled at 50% ABV and peated to a lower level to that of their other releases, 100% Islay has a lighter, fresher feel to it. Citrus and lemon notes come through with soft peat smoke and a long smooth finish.
For this seventh release, they have used whisky distilled in 2010 and matured in a combination of fresh and refill ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels until 2017.
700 ml, 46.0% abv, Scotland (ISLAY)Named after a famously peaty loch overlooked by the distillery, Loch Gorm is the only fully ex-sherry cask matured release in our range. Since it's first launch in 2012 a new edition of Loch Gorm has been released every year, each with it's unique balance of sherry influence and maturity. Bottlings are differentiated by distillation and bottling years printed on the label. Loch Gorm combines rich sherry fruits and spices with smouldering peat, cloves and lingering sweetness.
700 ml, 56.9% abv, Scotland (ISLAY)The Original Cask Strength is a special edition Kilchoman bottled at natural cask strength, presenting the whisky in its purest form with un-paralleled intensity of flavour and texture. Anthony Wills, managing director of Kilchoman, said: “it has always been my intention to release a cask strength expression once we had the stock available. This is the way single malt should be drunk. It allows everyone to experience Kilchoman with all the characteristics captured in the glass”.
This second edition in October 2016 was a vatting of 95 Quarter Casks.
