The North British Distillery Company was established in 1885 by Andrew Usher, William Sanderson and John Crabbie. Their chosen location was on the western outskirts of Edinburgh and the distillery came on stream in September 1887. It is now one of the largest Scotch Grain Whisky producers in Scotland. Almost the entire production of North British grain whisky spirit is sold for blending purposes, however, occasionally product is available from independent bottlers.
