Walsh Whiskey Distillery is located in Ireland’s Ancient East region, a half hour from the charming medieval city of Kilkenny, and just one hour from Dublin, Ireland. The distillery is set in a majestic 18th century estate, on the banks of the River Barrow, bounded by barley fields and framed by mighty 200 year-old oak trees. It is located directly over the Barrow Valley Aquifer, one of the largest underground lakes in Ireland and an infinite source of the purest water nature can provide for the creation of their world-class whiskeys. 700 ml, 40% abv, IrelandWriters’ Tears is a unique vatting of Single Malt and Single Pot Still whiskeys. Distilled from 60% Pot Still and 40% Malt (no grain). Writers’ Tears is triple distilled, non -peated and matured and aged in American Oak bourbon casks. A gold Medal winner at the International Spirits Challenge in London and one of the highest rated Irish Whiskeys in Jim Murrays Iconic “Whiskey Bible” “Altogether a very unusual Irish Whiskey , a throwback to the last century where spiced Pure Pot Still whiskey was married with Floral Single Malt” –Jim Murray .
