This rare edition of Glencdam is a very limited quantity of Glencadam Highland Single Malt, aged 17 years which has just been released. The Triple Cask Portwood Finish has been created by the careful selection of three Portwood hogshead casks. The malt whisky was transferred from Bourbon casks into the hand-picked Portwood casks to “finish” the maturation for a number of years. 46% abv, no colouring, no chill-filtration.

Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2014 score is '94', he begins with “just so sexy”, He follows this by “The sugars have a sparkle in their eye while the malt carries a lemon sharpness which breaks up the heavier aromas. A nose to take 10-15minutes with, as the clarity allows you to see a long way”. He provides a truly magnificent portrayal of the Glencadam 21 year old which finishes by complementing this particular expression and furthermore the Glencadam Distillery: “as one of the great Scottish single malt distilleries. So good is some of their whisky, this ‘exceptional’ bottling is almost becoming a norm”.

The malt whisky was transferred from Bourbon casks into the hand-picked butts to “finish” its maturation. This process of “finishing” bestows on the whisky refined characteristics, most notably, tones of Sherry sweetness. A limited release of 6000 bottles worldwide. Each bottle individually numbered.

Aged in ex-bourbon barrels, it’s quite sprightly for its age, with a pale gold color and a sweet, floral nose. It’s supple and creamy on the tongue, with rich notes of vanilla, honey, and marzipan, and a dry, slightly spicy finish"
