Timboon, Port Cask Matured, Single Malt Australian Whisky

Golden straw soft pink colour. The nose is gentle and inviting, showing aromas of oak caramel butter scotch, milk chocolate, honey, and the palate is soft, almost typical of an Irish whiskey although this malt is twice distilled. Just a wee dash of water to open this one up, drinks beautifully, excellent example of port wood expression.

Full length through the palate.

Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible 2013 is rating Timboon around '85' to '93' depending on vintage.

Tasting Notes:

NOSE : Attractive and lively berry fruit (raspberries, blueberries, cherries) then drier richer fruit (dates, prunes),

mint both fresh and dried, almond meal, fresh milled pine, pine needles, kirsch, wine gums.

PALATE : Rich and fruity, fruit leather, berry and plums, stewed fruit and brandy liqueur, some minty oak. Unctuous mouth-feel.

FINISH : Fruity, with minty oak wood, sour plums, mint leaves & fruit brandy.

COMMENT : Exceptional quality and highly individual profile, with breadth and depth. Both the distillate and

wood are first class. Develops character in the glass way beyond its year.
