The fourth release in the Starward line from Melbourne’s New World Whisky Distillery, Fortis is a bold and refreshing Aussie single malt. Aged in freshly emptied American oak red wine barrels mainly sourced from the Barossa Valley, Starward Fortis has a slight toasty feel from the charred oak barrels but its main character is fruity goodness. The name Fortis comes from the Latin for “strong” and this whisky is certainly a more muscular, powerful version of the Nova single malt.
