Description
Colour : Light translucent gold.
Nose : A complex sweet multi layering of green apples, spiced honey with just a hint of cider.
Palate : The flavour ramps up kaleidoscopically from nutmeg through spiced honey to a firm cereal with heaps of malty richness layered on as a finale.
Finish : Mouth filling, smooth and lingering, leaving a satisfying glow of inner warmth. Inspection of the glass reveal amazingly long luscious clinging beads of this superb malt whisky.
JIM MURRAY’S WHISKY BIBLE TASTING NOTES
Bakery Hill Classic 46%
Score 95/100
“Talk about complex! The most gentle, apologetic peats have entered the fray here to ensure an anchor to the more ethereal citrus and barley. A little minty too. Wow! Now that is some delivery. The playful phenols and the sugars are in breathtaking harmony while the oils ensures the most comfortable silky cushion. Those sugars have no problem staying the course. This is the seventh Bakery Hill whisky I have tasted today. And in the many years I have been sampling this stuff, I cannot remember when I was faced with such a long line of outstanding whisky from this Melbourne distillery. This is truly stunning malt”
