A 2000 vintage, 16 year old, single malt from Balblair, replacing their 2000 First Release. This 2000 Second Release was matured initially in American oak, ex-Bourbon barrels, followed by Spanish oak, ex-Sherry butts. Bottled in 2017.

Nose : Full bodied with aromas of seasoned oak, baked red apples and fruitcake, followed by warming vanilla and ripe tropical stone fruits.
Palate : Slightly oily in texture. Ground spices and old hardwood strike first, building up to brighter flavours of tinned pineapples, bitter orange peel and honey.
Overall : Long and rich, leading towards a soft, rounded finish.
