Description
Aroma:Â Peat smoke entwined with thick citrus fruits. A layered whisky which teases the nose on all levels. A definite smoke note that drifts in intensity to show toasting from the cask yet the richness of burning peat in an open fire. The resident toffee apple is playful yet respectful. Clean oak runs almost parallel throughout but is understated. Some vanilla and light spices appear almost late
Taste:Â Sweet and spice, vanilla is thicker yet works well with maturing fruits, akin to a bowl of fruit. Ginger flits in and out, almost in a bed of peat. The peat is subtle initially but develops depth with a hint of smokiness. The oak itself is very soft reminding us of the importance of the distillery spirit and the peating importance
Finish:Â Mouth coating, soft and smokey
