Hazelburn Sherry Wood, is always bottled at cask strength, and is released annually in small quantities after being matured in varying types of sherry cask.
This is a 13 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the Springbank distillery, released under their unpeated Hazelburn brand. Matured for 13 years in varying types of Sherry Casks.
Current Stock distilled in June 2007 and bottled in September 2020 at 50.3% abv.
Nose : Initially raisins, marzipan, Demerara sugar followed by treacle, sticky toffee and wood shavings.
Palate : Homemade strawberry jam, sugary and filled with cream, orange zest, brandy snaps and a white chocolate creme brûlée.
Finish : Chocolate orange, creamy coffee liqueur, buttered popcorn, cocoa beans and mocha coffee with a delicate finish of sweet orange marmalade.
