This is the ‘Cask Strength’ Tawny Cask Matured Single Malt Whisky from the Launceston Distillery. Aged in small French oak casks which previously held tawny fortified wine (Australian-style port).. Batch H17-20, bottled at 63.5% abv.
Nose : Appealing fragrant aromas of tawny port, giving fruit and oak, as well as darker aromas of coffee grounds and oiled wood.
Taste : Complex sweet tawny-influenced flavours of dried fruit, Christmas pudding and spice. Dark berry jam presents itself after some time.
Finish : A long, satisfying, smooth finish with lingering notes of golden syrup and oak.
